Actually, "consumable" means anything that can be used up. Once you use your star of transference, it disappears and you can't use it again, ie it was consumed.

Well, this is finally the answer to "I wish I could buy/sell skill points" There are lots of characters out there who have hundreds of points and nothing to do with them. This way you can sell a star for 1k or so. Having it grant you 2 points would be too much, though. It would quickly make everybody have way too many points.
What the second material needed ? Wood and what ?

Actually, it's fine the way it is. In practice, you're paying 50 materials and 250 gold to move a skill point to another char, which can be extremely useful for someone going for the Skill Hunter title. If it gave back TWO points, it'd basically mean you'd have infinite skill points by just spending money&materials (so, basically, money). Not good.
Interesting to hear about the item, tho (didnt have time this weekend to play long enough to unlock consumables)

I think it's a good item. My monk has got 500+ skill points and...nothing to do with them xD I hope Anet will make some "skill points base titles", that would be rly nice.

It's meant to transfer skill pointsto other characters.
For example, you ware going for Skill Hunter with a character, you run out of skill points, you pick another with 100 skill, make some stars, and transfer.

I'm happy ANet made skill points sellable or at least transferable. My Necro has 150 skill points and my Monk could use a few of them. *lol* Too there's no way to get extra attribute points. You could transfer all the AP from your useless characters and then reroll.

I find it very usefull too, my main charac has more than 800 skill points & I was often wondering what the hell I would do with those. I got the answer & the perfect salvage kit is good too.

I can't see there being a market in selling Star of Transferences per se (for most classes tomes are cheaper and require not a point) but I can see Grails , Res Scrolls and especially Powerstones (likely from Ebon Consumables) selling for around the 1k ish region. There like a HM/Dungeon Delvers ultimate item

Doubt it.
Most everyone has a great amoung of skill points. Turning them into stars will just mean that there are stacks of those lying around. I'd be surprised if you could even make your initial investment back in selling them. It will likely be something that people just use on rare occasions for their own benefit, if ever.

I can see ppl using these on lower lvl characters much like tomes. I mean at some pt skills cost you 1 K, you could in fact use these on a newly created character and keep the skill pts they have earned to buy your " core " skills at next to nothing. With the 250 in gold and material cost itself though to me it would be about the same cost maybe slightly cheaper. I " DO NOT " purchase every single skill in the game simply because I don't use them all and I'm one of those ppl who has a ranger with close to 500 skill pts and nothing to use them on.

Maybe you didn't see this, but there are ways to spend skill points aside from the transference stars. The other available items are much more practical. You can read about them here.

Actually, at least for this weekend you could buy more than one star for one skill point. Or at least you could with Might Grails. I doubt that was A-Nets intent, but it was working that way anyway -- here's what I did...
Go to the nice consumable lady with materials and gold in hand
Choose Holy Graile
Hit the number to purchase increase arrow up to 5
Purchase price goes up
Material requirements go up
Skill point requirement stays at 1
Hmmm.... Check skill points displayed on hero tab -- 132 available.
Hit purchase button -- 5 Holy Grails in inventory, all materials gone, gold deducted, 131 skill points displayed. So, 5 grailes for 1 skill point.
Look at star... Wow, a single stack of each of the materials and a few gold pieces and 1 skill point becomes 10 skill points and the source of an infinite supply of Powerstones.
I didn't purchase stars because I'm already a legendary skill hunter and I don't need skill points, but for someone who did need them this was the time to get them. I would expect that hole will be closed before GW:EN goes live, but who knows, I could be completely wrong and this could be exactly what was intended.
Aye
